Abstract: Benzoisothiazolinone is an excellent preservative for coatings and plastics. In this paper, the properties, bactericidal mechanism and application fields of benzothiazolinones are described in detail. The advantages of 1,2-benzoisothiazolin-3-one over traditional Kathon fungicides were compared.
